This is the first time that I have seen the tribute and read the many comments. I do praise the Lord for Bob and Lois!! I wish that every young person could have such a loving couple to lead his youth group.
I always looked forward to youth group and to the outings. Although my parents didn’t attend Bethany, everyone welcomed me!!!! Thank you to each one of you!
In the times closer to Bob and Lois’s home going, I would see them out in the Galesburg area. I was always excited to see them, and they were always excited to see me!!!
There was no doubt that they loved me! God’s love truly did show forth through them. They were great godly examples!! I will ever be thankful to God for them and for placing them in my life!!!!

Thank you for taking time to make this Memorial & Tribute to Bob! I am sure it is a great blessing to Lois and many others. I often use Bob as an illustration of an imperfect man who was used by a perfect God. May we all follow Bob's footsteps. Gary Jones

As I was growing up, my parents made it a priority that we attend a church with a strong youth group. I clearly remember the supper when my dad announced that the following Sunday we would be attending Bethany Baptist. Dad explained what he knew, both first hand and from others, about the reputation around town of the youth group and its leaders. I was impressed (and to be honest, intimidated) by what Dad had to say about Bob Swanson. When I nervously first met Bob, I was, of course, immediately put at ease by his warm manner and easy smile. Through the years, I came to know and love Bob, and found him to be just as my dad had said. As much as I am appreciative for all Bob did with and for us, I am most thankful for his WITNESS and his unwavering stand for Jesus. The love of God flowed through Bob to everyone he met. The boldness in his declaration of faith, and his reputation throughout town as a man of great faith and integrity… Indeed, a lifetime as a good and faithful servant of our Lord Jesus Christ.
